I am the Environmental Education Coordinator here at Don Lee, this will be my 5th spring on staff, and my 3rd as Coordinator. I found Don Lee after graduating from NC State with a degree in Marine Biology. I am also on the board of the North Carolina Association of Environmental Education Centers, as the Northern Coastal Representative. Being on the board allows me to work with many EE Centers and Educators around the state to ensure that Don Lee's EE program is growing and exceeding the standards set by the state and national associations for environmental education. I cannot wait for the Spring season to get rolling- both to see this seasons educators in action and to have kids back at camp, the winter is hard without them!
Hi, I'm Ally! I am the Assistant Environmental Education Coordinator at camp. This will be my 5th season working at camp and I love it here. In my free time you can find me crafting or outside adventuring. I also love helping the staff take care of the animals at camp.
Is from Pennsylvania, but she’s also lived in Washington State, California, and even the Turks and Caicos Islands for a little bit! Alyssa is excited to be here in North Carolina for her first season at Camp Don Lee. She loves all creatures on Earth, but has a special spot for ocean critters.
From Pinehurst NC and a recent ECU grad, GO PIRATES! She loves the water! She’s worked on summer staff for the past three summers but this her first coastal season! She also loves the turtles here at CDL.
Hails from Greenville, SC. This is her second coastal season here at camp. She loves to share her passion that every day, small changes can make a positive effect on the environment! Favorite sea creature is the manta ray.
Hello, I'm Crystal. This is my 2nd Spring Season at Camp Don Lee. I love creatures of all kinds, but my favorites are venomous reptiles.
Hails from the much better Greenville, NC. This will be his first coastal season at camp, but Duncan has been coming here for over 14 years and has worked 6 different summers. He loves the idea that anyone can love the outdoors and each person has their special place in the world.
Grew up in Michigan, loving science and the outdoors. This is her second season as a Don Lee educator and is looking forward to sharing her love for the earth and all that inhabits it! Emily’s favorite sea animal is the whale shark!
Hailing from the wonderful Palmetto State (South Carolina), this will be his second season on staff. With his infective enthusiasm, Jacob hopes to teach every kid who comes through here the importance of loving nature. When not at camp, you might find him shredding the gnar at a nearby beach.
Is from Columbus, Ohio. This is her first season at Camp Don Lee, and she is super excited to share cool facts about nature and the different animals you might see here. Her favorite sea creatures are dolphins, and she loves to go birding around camp!
Chicago, Illinois native who graduated with a BS in Biological Sciences from Illinois State University. Before becoming an Environmental Educator at Don Lee, Natalia was an intern at NOAA in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. This season Natalia is looking forward to sharing her passion about the ocean. Natalia’s favorite sea creature is the Port Jackson shark!
From Montvale, New Jersey. This is his first season at Camp Don Lee, and he is excited to teach about the wildlife of North Carolina. He recently finished a 10-month term with the Student Conservation Association in the Hudson Valley Region of New York. His favorite sea creature is the dolphin and his favorite reptile is a ball python.
